Salon, or Not?

So I have a few events coming up that I want to look chic and oh so pretty for no biggie right? Well, seeing how busy I am I want someone else to do all the dirty work. I want to go to the hair salon! Remember when I told ya'll I would NEVER I mean NEVER color my hair alone again? I really wasn't playing. However, I might have to recant that seeing how much it is going to cost me. I finally found someone here in Las Vegas who is excited about doing natural hair, and who has some natural dreadloc'd clients. But umm yea, you all know how much hair I have. So when I heard how much it would cost to color and retwist I thought I would fall out of my chair. I had heart palpation's. Now, this wouldn't be such a big deal if I didn't need to go shopping on top of that.

So here is the dilemma I can get the locs colored at a reasonable price, I mean how much would you charge me to do this whole head of hair? Be honest! Exactly! But to allow her to retwist all this hair would be another "C" note, no bueno. No ma'am! I just can't see, nor do it. Ya'll I can color my own hair for under $35!

So I'm asking ya'll what do you think the logical thing is for me to do?

A. Go to the salon and peel all that money off because I deserve to be pampered, and get it done professionally?
B. Do it my damn self so I can save 2 bones and buy myself a cute dress and heels for the night? I have to do this by Saturday, so leave me a comment and keep it real!

I love ya'll what would I do without you? LOL

Stay Blessed & Happy Locing!

Go to the professional. You deserve the pampering and like you, I vowed to never color my hair by myself again. It's just too much of a risk. Especially when your locs are as long as yours. You need those high pressure salon nozzles to blast all of that color out of your locs.

So yep, it's an investment, big sis. But is your crown not worth it? And if all else fails, put a PayPal button on your site and maybe your supporters can help donate to the cause. :)

B you are so right! I feel some kinda way about a PayPal button for my hair, bwuhahahaha but thank you!

Hey it has inspired me to do something else though!

You are looking fabulous might I add!

i would say go to the salon especially for the coloring. If u want to save some $ maybe style it yourself or go to salon thats more affordable for the styling but def go to the professional for color. I have the same dilema. I want to go to the salon for pampering but am nervous about salons. Have only been 1x since locing my hair and just a handful of times b4 when i was a loose natural. Im so used to doing everything myself but gotta let ge once in awhile to make ur self feel special. New color/hairdo/outfit & shoes will def leave u feelin and lookin good!

Nathalie, you are so right. My mother scolded me because she knows that she will receive a phone call as soon as I am done trying to color my hair. I will rant and rave about how much work it is, etc.

So I am going to go. You know what? I'm going to record the experience so you all can see what I am going through. I swear I have butterflies!

Okay let me go call the beautician and ask her what she plans on using to twist it myself, hmph. LOL
