My Queens...

I just saw that some of you have signed the guestbook, and I want you to know it inspires me and does my heart good to see you, your beautiful faces, and read your kind words. You know this blog started off as a hobby, a way to express myself, and uplift Loc'd beauties such as yourself. Honestly, I did not have this when I started locing. I had nowhere to turn to tell me that although my hair was nappy and loc'd up I was still beautiful. I had no pictures to refer to, no one telling me which products I should try, or any style tips to help me look good. Yes, there were natural websites, but they weren't catering specifically to dreadlocks.

Very recently I have been contacted by various individuals who say I need to branch out to start appealing to a wider audience, mix it up a little. While I value their input, I have to stay true to myself and my regime. Thank God for the inspiration I received from a fellow beauty blogger who not only was very uplifting but encouraged me to stay true to myself. I am doing this for my loc'd mammas! Why? Because there are oodles upon oodles of websites for all my natural beauty Queens, but we need something for us. Don't get it twisted and think I am trying to segregate or keep us down. Hell, there are plenty and I do mean plenty of other things, and reasons for keeping us down as black women. But please stop if you are thinking that this blog is one of them. Honey naw, I sing praises of ALL natural beauty. I will not accept that I am doing black women a disservice.

You all know my schedule, you know I do this on the sneak tip at work, in the wee wee hours of the night when my family is asleep. When I am supposed to be studying, or spending time with friends and family. I do this because I love you and I want you to see your worth, your true self-worth. I am in the Miss Nappturality contest to make a point, to show that we ARE beautiful! That we are versatile. We don't get cast for beauty commercials, high end fashion shows, put in magazines very often. We are discriminated against in jobs, in stores, etc. Think about it! What do we have? We have this, and other Loc'd websites who celebrate us.

I will not change, so please don't ask me to. I like what I am doing, I am at peace. I have a purpose!

Stay Blessed & Happy Locing!

Like I said before Queen you are truly an inspiration and having sistas like you uplift sistas like me to keep on and not feel anyway about it. I always loved locs but were so afraid to try them then when I finally did I couldn't really find any real sites I could really relate to ( like maybe the barbie doll syndrome?) Its one thing to feel insecure and ask your man if he thinks your beautiful but seriously to have it reinforced by others is a nice thing too. Good luck to you with the contest will be rooting for ya.

Peace

I stumbled on your website by visiting another blogger. Your website is phenomenal. I have read loc books, but I gained most of my experience of locking through my own loc journey and through other bloggers such as you. I have listed you on my blog so others can experience your awesome site! Continue to be true to yourself for other loc Divas. We will continue to love you for it!

Blessings

They are right. You should cut your hair. Right after they cut all their perms off. Because there are whores, baby murderers and women who are not what any person should aspire to with perms, weaves and lace fronts. When they cut their hair off in protest to that, Then you can cut your locs off. They have to go 1st since they are the ones bring it to the table.
